Neev developed an eCommerce store for a leading fashion and lifestyle retail brand in India – the first eCommerce site for the brand thus enabling the client to garner increased revenues through online sales. The store is built on Magento Community Edition and uses a custom Magento theme . Citrus payment gateway is used to enable purchases using a variety of options like credit card, debit card, net banking and also through the cash-on-delivery (COD). Neev built the store in a duration of two weeks.
The Provogue brand was launched in India in the year 1998 as a men’s fashion brand. Over the years, it has evolved into a leading fashion and lifestyle retail business and has expanded its tentacles into women’s fashion apparel and accessories, footwear, sunglasses, watches, etc. It is currently listed on the Mumbai and National stock exchanges. Provogue’s products are currently available at over 250 outlets in more than 80 cities across India. Other than 150 of its exclusive brand outlets, ‘Provogue Studio’, Provogue’s products are also available across leading national chains like Shopper’s stop, Lifestyle, Globus and Westside.
Provogue, sensing the boom in the Indian eCommerce market, decided to setup its own online store. It not only wanted to acquire new customers but also wanted more of its existing customers to purchase online. The client’s primary requirement was a robust payment gateway that would provide customers with a variety of purchasing options. Since the client was planning to launch the store at the earliest, time was of essence. Provogue also needed the order data in a customized format and required the store to have superior performance and a less cumbersome check-out process.
With Neev’s vast expertise in building eCommerce stores using Magento, Magento was the tool of choice for Provogue’s first eCommerce store. Neev’s scope of work involved design of the UI/UX, development, testing and soft launch of the store. Magento Community Edition Ver 1.7 was chosen as the client required only the basic features of Magento. In line with initial estimates, the store was setup in a matter of just two weeks. MVC design patterns were used. PHP framework was used to develop the store and integrated in the backend with MySQL DB. A payment gateway was created for the store using Citrus which was part of the Magento kit. This enabled customers to shop through their credit card, debit card, Net Banking or opt for Cash-on-Delivery (COD). The order data was customized as per client’s requirements. Neev included a one-step checkout feature that drastically reduced the checkout time and a quick view feature that gave the customer a feel of how the product would look when worn.
