Enabling Template Hint Paths in Magento

While customizing the theme in Magento one of the biggest challenges is trying to understand which block of content comes from which file.

Trying to drill down through the various files and folders under a Magento theme can be quite overwhelming.

However luckily for us, there is a neat simple option that can considerably save your time.

All you need to do is enable the Template Hint Paths via the Magento Admin Module.

They way to do that is as follows:

1. Login to Magento Admin
2. Select System > Configuration
3. Under Current Configuration Scope, Select Default Store View or the Name of the web store  you’ve defined.
4. On the left Pane select the Developer Tab
5. Under the Debug section select the Dropdown for Template Path Hints

After saving the Configuration the Front end will show start showing a red-box display the path of the file from where that particular content block is coming from as shown below.
